OrangeDux IT (“we”, “us”) is an IT services provider based in Launceston, Cornwall, UK. We are the controller of personal data collected through this website, https://www.orangedux.com.

You can contact us on (+44) 01566 818 373, Monday to Friday, 09:00-17:00, or by using the form on our Contact page.

What information we collect

Contact form. If you send us a message through our Contact page we collect the details you enter: your email address, phone number (if given), name and message. We use them only to reply to you and to deal with your enquiry.

Live chat. If you use the chat window on our site, our phone and chat provider 3CX processes the messages and any details you give so that we can reply to you.

Spam protection. Our contact form uses Cloudflare’s “Verify you are human” check to block automated spam. It may process technical information such as your IP address and browser details.

Technical data. Like most websites, our web server and hosting provider log technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit, for security and to keep the site running.

Cookies. See the Cookies section below.

How and why we use your information

  • To respond to enquiries and provide quotes or support you have asked for (legitimate interests, or steps taken at your request before entering a contract).
  • To keep the website secure and working properly (legitimate interests).
  • To meet legal and accounting obligations (legal obligation).
  • To remember your cookie choices and, where you consent, to use optional cookies (consent).

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for automated decision-making.

Cookies

When you first visit the site, a banner lets you accept, reject or customise cookies. Essential cookies are needed for the site to work, for example to remember your cookie choice. We only use optional cookies if you agree, and you can change your choice at any time through the cookie settings button on the site.

Embedded content and third parties

Our Contact page shows a Google Map. Google may set cookies and collect information such as your IP address when the map loads. See Google’s privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy. Other embedded content (for example videos) behaves as if you had visited the other website directly.

Who we share your information with

We share personal data only with service providers who help us run the site and respond to you, such as our website hosting provider, our email delivery provider, 3CX (phone and chat), Cloudflare (spam protection) and Google (maps). They process data only on our instructions or under their own privacy terms. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

International transfers

Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on the safeguards required by UK data-protection law, such as an adequacy decision or approved transfer terms.

How long we keep your information

We keep enquiry messages only for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and any follow-up, and for as long as legal or accounting requirements oblige us to. Technical logs are kept by our hosting provider for the period set out in their own terms.

Your rights

Under UK data-protection law you can ask us to:

  • tell you what personal data we hold about you and give you a copy;
  • correct anything that is inaccurate;
  • erase your data, where we have no good reason to keep it;
  • restrict or object to how we use it;
  • withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent.

To use any of these rights, contact us using the details above. We will respond within one month.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please contact us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at https://ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version is always on this page, with the date it was last updated shown at the top.
